- My Story -

The earliest memory I have of being interested in the world of beauty was my mom tweezing my eyebrows in elementary so I wouldn't have a unibrow; in 8th grade in my home economics class, we were boiling pots of water for our cooking section and I made a comment to my teacher that I should "grab a towel and steam my face over the pot." You'd think I would've figured out my life path pretty easily because of that but when does life every go exactly how you want?

I graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Sociology, moved to Chicago and got a job working in business to business sales representing a few major jewelry and clothing lines. I've always had a passion for sales, and I was very successful at it because of my love of learning - the brands, the history, the benefits. I traveled all over but I was never able to make time for myself or the people around me. I was referred to an esthetician for a facial and in the middle of that facial came my "ah ha" moment. A year later, I left my job in sales and was enrolled in esthetics school and G Skin & Beauty in the heart of downtown Chicago. Throughout my time in school, I became enamored with learning about product ingredients and organic solutions in skincare. This has allowed me to choose the perfect products for clients specifically based on skin type, rather than just following what a product line protocol tells me -- resulting in great results in a short period of time. In the future, I am hoping to be able to use this knowledge in a sales role or as a trainer for a company in the skin or cosmetic industry.

The thing that I love most about this industry is that it is ever changing - I love learning and being able to provide the freshest and most up to date services for clients. Throughout my time in this industry, I have become known for my speed waxing skills with a specialization in brazilian waxes and brow shaping. My passion is in medical skin treatments, I love performing chemical peels, microdermabrasion and anything of the sort. Most recently, I've taken up eyebrow and eyelash extensions and I love the look on a client's face when they see how something so small can completely brighten up their face.

Women are given a million reasons every day to feel bad about themselves, whether it be through the media or through expectations from society. It brightens my day to know that when a woman leaves the spa that she feels amazing and I've given her a reason to put all of her other stresses behind her for awhile. There is a saying that when you find a job you love that it's not a job at all, and that is exactly how I feel every day in the spa. Meeting new people and continuing relationships with returning clients is what makes me excited to wake up every morning.
